1st time visitors
We had the pleasure of having son-in-law Vance and Ms. Maryann Elisabeth come all the way out from the great state of Washington for a visit this past month. Beside having serious 'hang out' time at the Bee, they too faced the obligatory tour of the islands with many of its sights. Vance was kind enough to help me finish and launch the dock for the kids beach we put in last month, while Maryann gave it the first try.

Young boys are prone to want to make younger sisters 'walk the plank' for any imagined transgression, so I will add one at the end of the dock for their convenience.
Next, we had long time friend Michelle fly in from California for her turn, spending a week with us also. Michelle is a dentist in our home town in California, who Janice worked with back in the day. I, of course, had to suffer being stuck on an island with two blonde bombshells for a week.

What's new around here dept.
We
have been so pleased with some of the pieces of furniture we had built
by local artisans over the last summer or two, that we ordered more
before leaving last fall. That gave them all winter to put it together,
when work in these parts are slim pickin's and we are far and away,
anyway.
This time we had an entertainment system wall unit built, out of 'live edge' Ash wood. This allowed us to break down and join the rest of the planet in swapping out our 350 pound console TV (a generous gift from my sister at the time) for a wall mounted flat screen TV. Wooaah!! Things are looking up around here!
Then we got a 'fermented fruit juice holder' (for our non drinking friends)
Better yet, we have decided that in the fall we will be driving
back home to California (first time in 10 years), so we will have some
more furniture built here to take back in a small trailer we will tow. The
pieces we have commissioned were selected from our favorite 'forget-about-it-you-can't-afford-it' web sites and shops, but have the absolute luxury to have custom built here by artisans in the woods nearby.
